Carftsman LT1000, blades won't turn?

My Craftsman LT1000 is running perfectly, but when I engage the blades nothing happens. I replaced the belt, but it still doesn't work. WHat do I need to do?

My blades will not engage. Not enough tension on lever used to engage blades. How do I adjust the tension?

Probably the same bl**dy thing that just happened to mine. The blankity-blank cable that engages the pulley snapped! I'm looking for a bl**dy manual to repair it now...

Under the seat there should be a label with a Model Number on it. If you can give that number we can research it for you.

Posablt a bad bearing but if it was should shut down engine ....check all pulleys and blades for free spinning and then the engagement of the belt ........

No squealing or anything. When you lift the lever to engage the blades, nothing happens. I thought maybe something was wrapped around the blades, but I couldn't see anything. And I can turn the blades with my hand. I cannot find my manual, it would probably help.

Is it squealing? Could a locked up bearing in one of the blade spindles.
