Does the Engine warning light come on with ignition ford Ka?

Hi all,
Does the engine warning light come on with the ignition on,(1998 ford ka2) as i'm not sure if it's been disconnected/or just not working.

as i think the lambda sensor is faulty.

Hope you get it sorted by the dealer. When I buy a car I always take it straight to a good MOT tester and get it tested. If it fails, the car is clearly not fit for purpose, nor of merchantable quality.
If they offer you your money back, grab it and go somewhere else!
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply hth, i've only just bought the car, so i think it's been disconnected to hide some faults, (bought from a dealer thou) or the bulb has gone, the rest of them work fine.

Yes. All the lights on the dash (engine management, ABS, airbag etc (if these are fitted to your car)) should come on with the ignition then go off when the engine starts.
The only one which should stay on is the handbrake/brake fluid level light, which should go off when you release the handbrake.
Your car will fail an MOT if the EM light is not working.
