replacement of a fuel filler flap on a Fiat Stilo hatch 2004 model ?

Hi. How do I replace the filler cap - the existing cap has broken away- I no longer have the part itself - leaving just its plastic mounting attached to the bodywork. Can a replacement be simply slotted in or is it necesary to replace its mounting as well. Is a step by step guide available?
