before I change the thermostat can it be checked for operation if it is faulty? how do I change it in situ if possible, it seems as though there isn't enough room without taking the unit out of the caravan.

Is this question still in need of an answer? If so I may be able to help. My RM2310 has decided to freeze everything. I have this day removed the burner/switch/thermostat unit and am currently putting it through its hoops in my refrigerator. It may be that the temperature sensing element is still OK. Rather it is the switch and contacts attached to it that is sticking ON. Given the environment in which it sits (dust, wasps, whatever) and the fact that the contacts are somewhat exposed I would not be surprised. Would you like details?
