I have an Optima XL6 alarm every few hours the control panel alarm (beeper)?

I have an Optima XL6 alarm every few hours the control panel alarm (beeper) goes off not the main alarm. Entering the code fixes the problem for a few hours. Any ideas ???

The 'beeping' noise is definetely coming from the alarm panel and not any of the smoke alarms. the alarm code followed by the reset button fixes the problem for the time being. In fact went off 5 times friday in the space of 8 hours yet nothing since 9am sat 7/11 now 6pm sunday 8/11. I am in cardiff

Acorn, i go to lots of alarm calls where customers report a bleeping noise from their alarm panels. When in fact the noise is actually coming from the battery or mains operated smoke detectors. Acorn as an experienced engineer which i assume you are, you would know this. Mains smoke detectors which are fitted to all new build houses over the last 10 years have 9 volt pp3 batteries in them.
But i have since had a call from the customer and yes i was right.
As an enginner Acorn, the idea of this site is to offer quality factual advice to people and not to confuse them even more.

Sorry probably haven't been clear, it's a burgular alarm randomly the control box will sound ( same sound it makes when you enter the house before disarming) entering the code stops the alarm sound only to go off again a few hours later sometimes 1 hour or up to 1 day later. Any ideas ? Thanks

So how does entering a code at the alarm control panel stop the beep from a Smoke Detector then?

Its possibly not your burglar alarm at all, It depends if you are talking about a tamper fault which you dont state, Other wise its a low battery in a smoke detector
