I have been using a belling fan assisted electric cooker with halogen hob plate since 1992 which is 59.5 cm wide across hob, it fits tightly between two fitted units, I now find that many electric cookers are 6.0 cm, are these dimensions taken from across the hob or across the front of the cooker?

Try Hotpoint Helpline 08701506070. They will confirm that altho' their cookers are said to be 60cms wide, in reality they are 59.5cms wide. I believe that the EW84 models are 59.5 cms wide. Please check this out using tel no listed above.
