I am a manager of a retail store. My boss has written me up 3 times for opening the store late based on alarm code records he claims. He claims the company logs the exact time i turn off the alarm in the morning-but i know i have not been late. Is my boss lying? are alarm companies able to accuratley report when they are armed and unarmed? I assume when i disarm, the alarm places a call to the company and this info is recorded.....anyone know how accurate it is? anyone know if i can make it so it wont call out? can i just disconnect the phone line from the alarm system?

Your alarm is probably sending an open and closed signal to the central station, or he is using a manager code to view the log when you are not aware, check the time on the keypad. But to answer your question Yes he can check with central station, and as you are aware Time is classed as theft, meaning you are being paid for not working and is a sackable offence in the work place

Have you checked the time is correct on the alarm? A lot of companies check the log of the system and look to see what time the system was set and by whom. Many sites I go to the mgrs do this.
As for disconnecting the phoneline I wouldnt recommend this as the phone connection calls the police in the event of a "break in" and would invalidate your insurance and cost you your job
