how can i get my back and internal lights to work on a 97 escort?

i have no rear lights, no brake light, and no internal lights, i e dash, automatic gear selector, even the audiable warning sound to tell me i have left my lights on has gone, please help

Light switch on the steering column is the problem.Its one piece and costs about £60 from a dealer.
