How do I fix my CDA electric ceramic hob. ?

My CDA electic ceramic hob has one 'ring' which will only work at its highest setting. Please help I cannot even see how to get to the element

when the hob ring is switched on sometimes it does not come on,but if i bang with my hand underneath the hob unit it works. it started with one ring now it is with three rings i have to do the same.
