How to fix Ford ka disco lights when indicating right?

When braking the girlfriends ka indicates right and when she indicates right the breaklights flash. How many earth points are there, found one in the boot and that's as clean as a whistle. Any ideas anyone?

gemma s is spot on,if you undo the wiring clips from the rear clusters you will see which is damaged

My Ka had this exact problem when i bought it, you need to look at the PCB (circuit board for the lights) in the back. my one had melted or been burnt somehow causing this problem. my dad cleaned it off which seemed to help the problem, i am guessing this is a temporary solution and after more usage i may need to buy a new PCB.

by Jove I've found the problem. Thanks for the prompt input guys. After removing both bulb housings I discovered the problem stopped if I held the drivers side housing at a certain angle this confirming conection problems for that housing. After uncliping the bulbs from the wiring, one of the 5 pins was quite corroded in fact there wasn't alot of it left. After a careful rub down with some 800 wet and dry, problem over. Now for a scout on eBay for a replacemnt as like I said there ain't much of that pin left. Cheers guys.

Has the car had a bulb in the right cluster replaced recently? I'm thinking the bulb holders could have been replaced in the wrong order i.e. indicator bulb now in brake light hole & vice versa.

Despite what some people might say a bad earth will not make two independent electrical systems cross-over - a bad earth will stop something from working - it will not start something working that should not be working. Electricity is not like that.

Somewhere in the vehicle there is a crossed connection - when did the problem begin and what work was done immediately before the problem started - are good questions to ask.

The break light earth is good else the break light would not illuminate - the indicator earth ditto.

Happy hunting...
