Thanks for the response but its not worked. More telling is the fact that the button on the console is not working (i.e the doors don`t lock nor does the little light illuminate), the key in the lock does not lock any other doors but the drivers door. Would taking the fuse out do any damage? (I have replaced it (38 on schematic)) I have since changed the battery in the key (Just in case (and £8.99!!!))

Turn on ignition (dash lights on, dont start engine).
Press lock button on remote, doors should lock then unlock.
Ignition off, remove key, repeat for spare key, job done.
