how to fix a honda generator?

Hi, Ive a honda generator and the capacitor has gone on it. Its 400v 36uf (fist size). Im finding it hard to get one that size,a guy told me to buy two 18uf and put them in (forget if it was) series or parrell.Looking opinions on it & how to wire.

You are way off the mark here...this is the domestic appliance section of the forum. However...resistors are wired in series...capacitors are wired in paralell. A 36uf capacitor shouldn't be difficult to track down on ebay. Look there....
