Buttonholing on a Janome My Style 22 . ?

Can anyone explaion how I buttonhole on the above machine. I have no manual but do have the foot for making buttonholes and know which setting to use. But although it will go forward I can't get it to go back up the other side.

You don't have the manual for this model do you?
Will try the sites you suggested.
thanks for the help so far..

Hello Lewela,
There may be too much pressure on the presser foot to make it go backwards that is the most common cause and you should also have an adjuster on the stitch length to make sure both sides of the buttonhole are the same, try www.sewusa.com or www.sewingonline.co.uk/instructions for manuals.
