I have a 1974 circa hamilton mantel clock, could u tell me how to advance speed of clock, it runs slow?

first ensure the clock is ticking evenly. tick tock, not tic tic
now if the clock has a pendulum close to the bottom will be a small adjustment wheel, turning this small wheel CLOCKWISE speeds up the clock,The easy way is to put a spot of felt pen on the edge of the wheel try half a turn on the wheel and time the clock over say 12 hrs if it still loses try another half a turn up when you get to the point the clock is gaining start to turn the wheel ANTICLOCKWISE by an eighth of a turn
