where is the return clutch spring located in a 55reg ford focus

There is a spring that fits from the top of the pedal to somewhere on the bulkhead, had mine replaced yesterday after having the pedal go to the floor. Mechanic said it was a mare of a job due to lack of access.

There isnt a seperate clutch return spring as this clutch is a hydraulic one , The return springs are built into the clutch pressure plate and become weak after prolonged use , You will have to remove the gearbox to access the pressure plate for renewal and should be left to a competant mechanic , If the springs are weak you will experience difficulty engaging gear when stationary or clutch slip under hard acceleration .
