Hoover HSC 170 problem?

Just bought a Hoover HSC 170 condensing tumble dryer (second hand ) and although it works fine on low heat, when I put it up to full heat it only stays on for about 10 minutes before taking out the main house electrics ( RCD tripping )
Anyone any idea whats causing this ?

2 answers heating element gone or overheat thermostat not working this is on drum casing in case of over heat sometimes if element is half gone it will trip your rcd when elements are used over a length of time they become worn thus just like a cooker hob that has saucepan rubbed across it a few hundred times depending on make some elements can be removed by them selves others you need to take out drum hope this helps
