Oil issue with Passat sport -follow up?

Gents,

Today I checked my engine only to find what looked like water mixed with oil, resulting in a thick grey mix inside engine and level well above where it should be. I investigated and found lots of water around the battery area, I investigated and found the cause to be blocked drain holes, these have now been cleared. Could this we how the water has got into the engine or is this something more serious ?? What do I do next ??

The exhaust has now started to blowout white smoke. Any ideas ?? Car is driving ok.

Appreciate your help.

Thought it might be diesel. This is why it is important to put ALL the car details in the question.
It is most probably a leaky diesel injector. The fuel dribbles out and runs in to the sump, it is diesel you see in your oil, not water.
You will have to get the injectors pressure tested to find out which one(s) is/are leaking. Change the oil and filter, the diesel will have thinned it and it will not lubricate properly. Keep running it and you'll wreck the engine.

Is this a diesel?

Rick,

Thanks for the answer. There is npo lose of coolent and the level is still the same. Cant see no lose of oil but difficult to tell with the 'sluggy' oil. The exhaust only smokes when the car is idling, no smoke at speed !! Still head gasket ??

Appreciate all your help.

head gasket without a doubt..... other water coincidence i would think.....if water got in from your blocked drain holes then surely the oil etc would leak out the engine? you could try draining the oil and refilling and keeping your eye on it but i would think it's the head gasket....are you losing water from the expansion tank/radiator?
