1997 V6 Ford Explorer will not start as I turn the key hear a click?
Hi, I am hoping someone will be able to help me with this issue. I have a 1997 Ford explorer with a V6 automatic transmission. The truck was running good but one day last week when I went to start the truck I just heard One click when I tried to start the truck. then after a few more times of trying to start the truck it started. The truck did have an old battery in it so I wanted to replace the battery with a new one before winter which I did. After replacing the battery the same problem occured again. one click. So I thought I should take out the starter and have the starter tested which I did. I took the starter to the auto parts store and had the starter tested and It tested ok. I put the starter back into the car and the same problem is still happening. I spoke to a friend of mine at work and he said that it could be a few issues but to first start with the park/nuetral safty switch located on the side of the transmission. Or it could be the ice cube relay under the hood in the power distrabution box. He also said it could be the ignition.
Does anyone have any ideas or help reguarding this starting issues? if so please wirte me... Thank You
