I to want to replace the pump in my Aqualisa Aquastream shower. I have no problem with DIY in general including plumbing etc. but would appreciate a little advice on how this job is tackled. Does a new unit contain fitting instructions?
i have just replaced my pump/motor assembly in a post 1997-2003 aquastream shower unit,i bought it from trading depot.co.uk £54.63 plus vat and postage,it came with full instructions and an installation kit.
basically you have to saw through the plastic pipes at the top of the unit to enable removal of the copper pipes which were preventing the pump removal, the copper pipes just pull out.
new plastic elbows come with the pump.
i smeared all the joints with fernox Ls-x joint compound to ensure a leak free job.
the job took less than an hour.
good luck

Tony, Good for you, My Aqualisa aquastream is making grinding noises too, when I turn the flow down a bit the noise gets quieter If its the pump Id appreciate it If you tell us how you did it. Liam.

Hi Tony
I have the same problem. Do you have any tips?
I can't see how to undo the pipes to get at the pump itself.
Can anyone help?

Tis I, the person asking the question.
Obviously no-one out there could be bothered or helpful enough to give guidance....probably afraid that a mere D.I.Y person is in their eyes incapable of doing such work. In the event, no thanks to them I took on the un-informed challenge myself and found, (surprise, surprise), that the job was in fact very easy and straight-forward and took around 30 minutes to complete. Maybe I too should take a leaf out of their book and not give help when asked!!!
