Zanussi Washer/Dryer WJS1665W - E73 Fault Code?

I have been slowly narrowing down a problem with the Drying function on my Zanussi Washer / Dryer. Basically 2 problems - on either of the 2 heat settings "Cottons" or "Synthetics". 1 - the countdown timer finishes too quickly e.g. a 30 minute drying cycle is done in 10 and 2 - There is no heat being generated. There are no abnormal noises.

I have run a Engineers Mode Diagnostic (I think that this is what it is called) with CK's help and the Fault / Error Code E73 is appearing on the 9th press of the button that scrolls through all the functions.

Having done some research this seems to be a fault with the Temperature Sensor (or Thermostat) on the Drying Duct at the top and front of the machine. I have previously seen the Sensor had detached from the metal housing (or Gasket) and is thus not making proper contact. Wiring is all OK.

If the problem is with this Sensor - should I try to re-attach it to the metal housing with superglue (not sure if that will damage it...?) it or should I buy a replacement or have I got it completely wrong.....!!??

Any help will be greatly appreciated.....

I got the paste from Maplins and glued in the plastic thermostat.

It seems to be working well (so far).

So thanks again CK !!

a thermal heat transfer paste between metal case and the plastic thermostat is the ideal fix then glue around top edge once reasembled.if that fails replace with a new one.glad we are getting somewhere with this one
