how can i fix my gilera runner 180cc ?

my gilera runner 180cc, the indicators are not working well. They work when the bike has stopped. They dont work when the bike is moving. I have looked at it and cant see any problems, I have also changed the indicater switch, and that does not seem to help. I dont know what else to do.

I would apperciate it if you could help me.

Many thanks

now when you say stopped do you mean the engine is stopped as in its not running or the bike isnt going anywhere but the engine is running, these gileras have a flasher relay built into the regulator rectifier and its common for them to flash either too fast or too slow after a while,if its flashing too fast when the engine is running then its def that,is the battery good ?will it start of the electric start ok ?i have put in a seperate flasher relay before to save costs as teh new regulator is about £70 and a flasher relay is about a fiver, its easy to do there are two seperate smaller wires at the end of the row of wires in the connector block at the end of the regulator they go onto the new realy if you get them around the wrong way they wont work so just swap the over and they will. easy as that.

Blah, pesky Italian machines & their electrics. Maybe there's some generic indicator problem with the Gilera which one of the other contributors can help you with, I'm not sure.
You say they work okay when you're stopped, have you tried fitting a new indicator relay/flasher unit? Either that or you may have a bad earth or an exposed wire somewhere along the wiring loom which is hitting off the frame & stopping power getting to the indicators.
When you're driving along the problem could be made worse from the engine vibrations & having to turn corners pulling the loom towards the frame.
