VW LT46 flashing code on dash display?

My VW LT46 has a tachograph and where the KMs are it flashes code "55". What is this? I asked at VW van dealers and he couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me. I don't have an owners manual, and can't find anything on the internet about this....

I work for vw vans and we have a customer with the exact same thing and can't rectify it. No faults show on computer so they just live it.
