FDW80, the wash cycle will not index forward to start washing?

Hotpoint dishwasher FDW80. The wash cycle will not move forward from the beginning of the program. The salt warning light came on - more salt has been added. Fault AL01 came on, no water had leaked into the base of the washer, checked the float switch it is switching correctly.
