Thank you very much Dee Jay. Exactly the same thing happened to my dryer and I followed your advice. Your step by step instructions were excellent and once you took the cover off it was very straight forward. I have just replaced the thermostats and it is working perfectly. I am a 45 year old housewife who does little jobs around the house but I have never tackled anything like this before.
Thanks again.

Replaced thermostats as suggested. Dryer working fine. Looks like if they cut out once they are shot and need replacing so are the first and obvious parts to change first. Even if it isnt them the £18.00 spent is worth it against a £60+ call out bill to find out the same thing.

Need to replace the thermostats by the heating element.

At the back of the machine. take the petruding bearing cover off (2 screws), strenthening bar (4 Screws) & back pannel (6 to 8 screws) to find the heat element. You will see 2 small round things on the top plate with 2 wires either side of them one of them has a green spot . Replace them both . Creda part no 1701583.
