My dishwasher has stopped working - comes on but no action. We have been told it maybe the heating element but cannot locate it for testing.

the element will not stop the action working.when you shut the door and switch it on does it fill with water?.Can you hear the drain pump start?.If it fills does the pump start up and can you hear water splashing about.need more info from you to help you on this one
