LG WM2277HW will not respond to power button?

I ran about three loads of laundry through this washer yesterday. Woke this morning to run one more load, and found that the washer would not respond to the power button. I reset the power (by disconnecting the plug from the outlet) a number of times; spun the drum; opened the top lid and surveyed the main control board, filter, etc...; and even reset every electrical connection I could find. While skeptical this would work, I even emptied the "junk basket" filter on the front side lower corner of the washer. I'm open to replacing some of the parts in an effort to troubleshoot the problem but was hoping someone may be able to provide some direction/suggestions where to look first. I found a site that offers all of the parts I need. Any ideas/suggestions or experience with this problem? I have read around the site and seen that some of you are very experienced with this product, and I will end by sending my appreciation for sharing with the rest of us...

Having a similar problem. The start button blinks but doesn't respond/start when depressed. Just continues to blink. Have to try pressing multiply times on areas of the start button and it eventually starts. I'll sure one day it well no longer start and would like to repair before that happens. Help!

The power button is made of plastic and is much larger than the actual button it presses on behind it....take out the 2 screws on the left (after removing the tray assembly and unplugging the power)...then pry up and out simultaneously on the control panel. then with a phillips screw driver remove the 8 screws...carefully remove the backing assbly, this will reveal the pushbutton thing that is more than likely broken...if you take it out,you can reassemble every thing and use the machine by pressing in on the little tiny red button, through the hole that now exists, because of the part you just removed, it is inside the hole near the top. i am trying to locate the part # right now for the push button part that is broken.
