How to use a CVboot cone fitting tool?

I want to change the CV boot on a 1992 Vauxhall Nova without removing the drive shaft. I have bought a Laser CV boot cone stretching tool, but am unsure about the best way of using it - where and when to put the lube for stretching it. Any guidance please?

G i think to use the cone you have to remove drive shaft to enable boot to slide over it.[i think it is used on some vehicles whose cv joints dont come off!

Thanks K. I have bought one of the softer rubber boots and wanted to use the cone to stretch it over the CV joint, but not having done it before I wondered if anyone had any suggestions to make the process as easy as possible; the actual cone seems very large for the small end of the rubber sleeve to stretch over. I have some of the lube to help to fit it on.

usually with most vauxhalls -if you jack up car ,remove old cv boot and put full lock ,you can release cv clip andpull shaft out if it dosent clear then you can lever engine assy to allow shaft to drop out . if new boot is hard type plastic use proper boot clips, cable ties wont stay on for long![ you used to be able to get a spurious boot that was split and you glued it together may still be available]
