Our refrigerator, Kenmore Elite side by side #52703100 about 3 years old, is too cold. Even at the highest setting for the refrigerator there is frost on my carrots on the shelf and an onion in one of the drawers was partially frozen. I assume it is the thermostat. Can that be fixed? How much would that cost?

Hi JP,
with the highest settings I mean the warmest and that slightly helps. The temperature on the highest shelf is 36 F and on the lowest shelf it is 30 F. So the settings are on 41 F for the fridge and 4 F for the freezer (factory settings are 37 F / 0 F).

Hi Ulli,

I'm not sure why you have the setting set so high? If you have the temp. control set to the max that will make the compressor run more and make your fridge that much colder. Try putting the knobs at the factory setting or midway and see if its gets better in 24 hours. Unless theres something I'm misunderstanding.

Is your fridge running constantly? Try setting both controls in the middle to see if that helps.
