the two missing bolts are only there for transportation of the machine and should not be in place when the machine is in use!

Replaced the drum pulley and the noise stopped. I also checks the springs and they were fine and seated properly. the concrete counter weights were also fine (not broken). To look at the springs and weights, I removed two screws from the back that held the top down and then popped the top off. It was the best way to view everything. My neighbor knew all this and he was necessary not only to diagnose it but also to help me keep the pulley from spinning while I loosened it in the other direction - place a metal bar/rod/something in the sprockets of the pulley to prevent it from turning and then use a socket wrench to get the nut & bolt out.

I am only an Indesit W103 UK owner but mine has the same problem. My drum pulley - remove the rear panel after you have the power supply disconnected - has two cracks in the arms of it. The pulley is a huge wheel that has a rubber belt that is attached to the motor. I cannot seem to get the pulley removed to tell if this is the problem so i cannot say for sure but it might be. I also notices that two points where a bolt would connect the frame of the washer to the drum itself have no bolts in them. I have not found any missing bolts and this may have been used only durring shipping but I would think this would help the drum from vibrating (too much) as well. If I get it fixed, I'll respond back. If you have the same problem, let me know. Thanks, Mike webmail@jump-in.org
