I had same issue last night but it was our own alarm (we were never given the code from previous owner and never used it) I ended up taking out the mains fuse to the 9448 control pannel. This doesn't stop the alrm but does make it quieter..then just let the battery run out.. am now waiting 24 hours before reconnecting power so I can set a new code using default ones 1234 and 0000
