how easy is it to change my engine in my ford escort van?

my escort van is smoken when its running i have changed oil fillter and oil and flushed out the engine but nothing is getin better i have a other van engine there would it be better to change it or ?

hi you didnt say what colour of smoke - could be diesel problem and you could try additive plus new air filter and diesel filter
