Peugeot v clic 50- how do I deresrict it?

Hi,
I have a V clic 50 which is limited to 30mph. I just want a bit more speed and slightly higher top speed. How do I derestrict it. Dont want to do anything else to it just make it a little bit quicker.
Thanks

cut the green looped wire on the CDI BOX (under mat next to battery)
open up side case (kick start side) remove the front pully and at back their will be a bolted on plate ..remove it then reassemble , also sometimes a small washer too...throw that away if it has one

BUT Dont expect much .. you only talking 35 - 45 mph max it is only a 50cc at end of day

all later v clicks have a metal plate BEHIND the front pulley of the variator held by three small bolts.
remove this and reassemble.
Remove - the aluminum cover that has the kick start attached.
DO not remove the kick start.
Front pulley nut is right hand thread. Difficult to remove as pulley will turn.
Air tool or hold the pulley with a strap wrench?
remove outer half then belt then inner part.
observe sleeve in center.
remove plate from rear 3 bolts, this allows the half pulley to move closer to the outer half pushed by the rollers.
28mph to 35mph expected increase up to 40mph max

does cutting the loop of green wire work...before i go do it

keith, October 2012
lift off the rubber matt where your feet go . Now remove the cover thats been hiding under the matt. under the cover you will find a black box, slightly larger than a pack of 20 cigarrettes. Lift this out and you will see a small loop of green wire next to the plug , cut this and tape over the ends ... 35 to 36 mph on the flat and 40 downhill will now be available

you carnt physically de ristrict a v-clic unfortunately as ive had this problem and visited the garage and he told me tht de ristriction is not possible :(

where is the variator

matt, February 2012
I've got a v-clic, cut the cable on the CDI which gave me about 35mph downhill with the wind behind me, then i took the plate behind the variator off, and the bike does upto 40mph on a straight, and 45 - 48 downhill.
Everything else is standard, with standard exhaust ext

wtf is a cdi unit ? and ive been told it doesnt have any in the carb and the wire is pink not green.. :)

Dave, February 2011
It has restrictors in the CDI(green cable) and a plate on the back of the vario, the exhaust is also restricted but the only way to change it is to replace it. There are none in the carb

Hi, i was going to derestrict my v clic and was wondering which wire i had to cut. is it the one by the battery that is green/yellow?

T Prins, July 2010
i have cut the cdi cable but my v clic still does 30-35 and i cannot find any washer in my variator. does anyone no where else it is restricted ?

v clic owner, March 2010
what is the CDI unit

Tom, January 2010
Assuming that the rider is 17 or older (its illegal to deristrict for a 16 year old) and that your insurance company knows it is destricted, the first thing to do is to cut the small green wire loop that sticks out of the side of the CDI unit and wrap some insulation tape around each end. This loop electronically restricts the speed to 50km/h(31mph) and once cut the CDI doesn't know how fast the scooter is going so it doesn't try to stop it. This change alone raised top speed on my daughter's V-Clic from 50 to 62km/h. Next step will be the carburetor and then the drive pulley.

Not easy m8 they have a restrictor in the exhaust ,carb and the CDI

P&J HOOKER, December 2009
Cheers Adam. I will give this a go this weekend

Captain Pugwash, December 2009
the carb has a cap on the top called a diaphragm cap, take it off and i reckon there is a restrictor in there that stops the slide from moving all the way up take it out ,alos there may be a wedding ring shaped washer in between the variator halves that stops the belt from being pushed all the way to the edge ,take that out to if it has one.
