Creda automatic 79151-Help cant get it to work!!!?

Can anybody help me with this stuff? I turn it on for hours and it does nothing. I mistakingly left it on overnight and it gets too hot. There are 2 knobs - one for room temp and the other for auto set control....both with numbers 1-6, but I dont know what these numbers and dials mean.

Please help

hi there naana. this is a storage heater, which means that it uses electricity overnight to heat up bricks inside it, and then releases the heat over the day. so you need to leave it switched on all the time. usually you would have an economy 7 or similar electricity tariff so the heater is using cheaper rate electricity. faye has given you the right information about the dials. what i do is turn my output dial to 1 at the end of the day (which means that it isn't giving out heat as it is storing it) leave it like that until i get back from work and then turn it up to 4 to let the heat out quicker through the evening. you'll need to experiment with the input dial - basically the colder the weather, the higher you need to set it to get enough heat to last the day.
hope this helps

hi, the room temp dial, 1-6 is: 1 meaning the lowest heat coming out - 6 meaning the highest amount of heat coming out.

the auto dial, is the charge, so 1 meaning that the heater only uses alittle electric, but will run out of heat quickly, 6 meaning a full charge, which will last all day.
