It depend on how badly it's damaged and, anyway, any fix won't last. At best, you may manage to recover some files but very probably not all of them.
Even if you manage to make it work, you may not be able to retreive many, or even any, files as unsteady connections can corrupt any data you access, ruining the data as you try to read them.
Unless there are file on that drive that you absolutely need to recover, it's probably beter to send it to some recicling plant and get a new one.
