Keeps Blowing Ex/sp (16 ohm)?

The 16 ohm Extension speaker keeps blowing. This is the 4th one that has been fitted by a customer.

Seems as though too much current is passing & the o/p transistor is getting very hot in alarm mode or when in walk test. Could the decoupling capacitor be leaking D.C.?

Anyone else know anything? This is just a matter of interest as the panel will be changed.

Knowing the panel make wont change ohms law, I love your comment Acorn, I am an alarm engineer and i have an idea, how about a solution to the poor gents problem. I get about 4 calls a day from people reading this site with problems, i dont have idea's to solve their problems, i have answers. If your gonna help people Acorn, at least try and be constructive with your answers.

Without knowing the make of control panel I'm not going to make any comment.
I'm an alarm engineer and have an idea, that's why I ask for the panel make, still never mind.

My question would be how many speakers are connected to the speaker output. If you have several speakers, its simple ohms law V=I X R which means for every speaker you fit, the impedance halves, sorry cant spell that word. To a point where you blow equipment.

It would help to know the control panel to which these speakers are being fitted
