I have a E20 error. I know this is due to the water not draining properly. However when I try to get to the drain pump to clean it out the problem begins. I drain it down with the emergency drain, unscrew the cover but am then faced with a cap inset into the opening that will not budge. Any hints?

When you say unscrew do you mean the inner cap? I can not get hold of it (with or without pliers) to either turn it or pull it!

unscrew it.using a pair of pliers grip cap and pull hard until it releases
