2004 DAF XF as-tronic gearbox works fine for a few days then transmission warning comes up on dash and gearbox refuses to engage any gears.

I had a problem with a speed sensor in the gearbox( Transmission malfunction ) would drive normal, but as soon as I stop this fault light would come on and pto would not engage ..( while this light is on ) Put a new speed sensor ( common fault ) sorted the problem out ( this sensor also does the taco card)

I have a DAF LF 145 2009 . We often get the ABS warning light on after a few miles but recently the automatic shaft stopped working and in orange saying "transmission warning" with an alarm came on . The box seemed to work in manual but sometimes got stuck in one gear . Any idea please?l

I have a daf 105 xf astronic. When we engage the d position the truck is going with sudden acceleration no matter how soft we push the pedal. We tried engage higher gear 4 or 5 and still the same results. There are no faults on the dash. If anyone had this problem before can he light us please

hi i have a daf cf85 as tronic transmission , on start up after standing for some time , the n light flashes in yellow and the buzzer is on and the is no gear function , once it fills the air tanks , i switch off the truck and then restart it , then the gears engage . please advise

Mine was similar , particularly on damp days . It eventually would not engage any gears at all . Dealer had it for two days , fitted nearly £5000.00 worth of parts , which did not cure it . Problem turned out to be a broken wire in the loom . Fitted a £5 connector , removed the £5 k. Worth of bits and it is still performing perfectly 2 years later .
The big problem with the diagnostic plug in method of fault finding is that a broken and intermittently connecting wire will send a false reading to the computer .
I have recently had a similar problem with a 45 series . The diagnostics were showing several problems requiring in excess of a £1000. Worth of parts which again turned out to be a chafed wire in the loom . Both trucks were about 6 years old at time of probs

We have 2 xf430's and one had transmission warning and wouldn't go into gear it was just flashing 'N' I swapped the black box that the as tronic gear lever is attached to and job done no more problems. I then fitted faulty unit to other lorry to check and transmission warning came straight on. Unfortunately the box cost me £1275 & vat.

check the clutch booster for water by droppin the air supply pipe off thye side. if theres water in the pipe thats usually your problem, best way to sort it if the booster hasnt gone already is drop the bung out of the air tank(thin long one which only serves the gearbox and let all excess water run out, then replace the bung with a drain plug(pull ring type) also check your air dryer for excess water if really bad change filter. this is the commonest problem.

Its possible you have an intermittant air pressure fault on the gearbox supply. Anyting else failing to work? Seat suspension,Difflock? although these may be on a seperate line.

does it just say transmission warning and nothing else ? and also is it red or amber ? does it ever come up with engine or ebs systerm warnings or do you have any problems releasing the park brake or does the park brake light stay on ? also do you have a pto fitted to the gearbox ?
