F40 on ferroli optimax he 31 boiler?

I'm in a rented property with prepaid gas meter. My gas supply ran out and I found a error code A01 in my Ferroli Optimax HE 31 boiler. I topped up the gas and restarted the boilear and it came up with F40 fault code. According to the manual F40 means "high water pressure", so I released some water off my radiator until the pressure indicator was at around 1 bar and I restarted my boiler. However, my boiler still showed the same fault code F40. Anyone had this experience before? Any idea what to check next?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Contact Ferroli support and they talk you through the process. It requires a sequence of key presses on your panel and it is fixed in minutes.

We are not talking about the standard reset this is black magic stuff that Ferroli do not publish.

Biggest problem with Ferroli is that most engineers don't work with them so would rather give you a £300 bill than admit they have no idea what is wrong.

I know as my £300 bill for my He Plus 31C disappeared as soon as the second engineer who came out was smart enough just to pick up the phone and ask the question.

just need someone who knows what he (or she) is doing. This code is a programming of pcb fault and sorted in 10 minutes very easy. regardless of what is said these are good boilers (yes I know they are cheap) I have fitted 200 of em and had no real problems with any.

Ive got the same problem so now have no hot water or gas!! the boilers not even a month old so going to have it done under warranty but they cant get out until 4 days time and if i call a 24hr emergency plumber out it voids the warranty!! what a help eh!! considering i have a small child in a house that feels like an ice box!!

I've fitted a few of these boilers and they do this when you turn them on. Not good. After speaking to the Ferroli technical they said it was a simple matter of recoding the boiler. Tried that. Nothing. Still the same fault. So I just gave up and booked a Ferroli engineer to come out and sort it (under warranty of course). The moral is, don't buy a Ferroli. Yes, they're cheap, but they're just a pile of, erm, well, you know what I mean.
