My dad has purchased s reg nissan micra 1.3 with N CVT auto transmission system . Have checked and filled transmission fluid but when started, car will only rock slightly, rather than engage drive or reverse.

Has the gearbox had it ? How does the drive travel from autobox to driveshaft ? most likely fault please

Hello lots of things it could be the electro magnetic clutch,split secondry drum,chain broken,valve body worn out all sorts.
Does it select drive and reverse ok or is it hard to get into these positions when the engine is started?
