The dryer is leaving black marks on the laundry, can anyone reccomend a "fix"?

Is the sensor N/O or N/C. on the sensor model.
if it breaks what will happen....will it stop working or will it just not switch of when dry?

My dryer is 3 years old now and has been fine up until now, it is leaving horrible black marks on clothing and even tearing them sometimes...driving me mad as its always my things get ruined lol antone else had this problem?

the one with thickest wires connected to it is a thermostat and should be normally close when cold.the other one with the thin wires is a sensor and will give a resistance reading across it
