disconnect the cooker cable from the cooker and turn the switch on.put insulation tap around exposed wires for safety.at least you then know the circuit to there is good.I have had issues with lamp holders shorting inside themselves causing tripping and 1hour head scratching.lol

thanks for the help ck, disconected heat elements 1 by 1 then the switches 1 by 1 but it did'nt make any difference as soon as i turn the mains on it blows the trip, can't think what else to try thanks anyway

disconnect bits until it doesn't.favourite is a switch contact welded up or a faulty heating element
