motor?

Please can you help. l have an old singer sewing machine no S1555883 l need a new motor the number on the old one is 846521 200-250 volts 50 watt sew-tric ltd england made the motor. l have had this machine 31 years it is the best machine l have had if l can repair it l what to. were can l get this motor from. thank you for your help with this matter.

Hello Anita,
You won't get sewtric motors anymore, you will need to change the motor and control, you buy the motor with control complete from any sewing machine shop or on line from www.sewingonline.co.uk/instructions, the model you want is called YDK, that is the standard make, if you have a light fitted to your machine it is very easy to wire in the two wires.
