I dropped my trimmer and broke off the plastic handle area.

By undoing a screw I can get to all the switch parts.

One grey covered wire remains connected but the other is free.

I can't see where the free wire should connect.

Can you advise?

If you take it to a B&D repair centre they would probably tell you. Otherwise if you can e-mail me some clear photos I may be able to help. If you look closely, you would probable see a Lucar type connector which has no wire in it.
