Variator for peugeot 100?

Hi,
Could some one tell me what a variator is? and how do I get to it. Apparently it holds my belt for the bike I have. Its a peugeot 100. Belt needs repacling.

to get to belt and variator. remove engine casing (casing with kickstart on)leave kickstart on and just remove bolts holding engine casing on. drive belt and variator are behind casing.the front pulley that drive belt is on. is also called the variator.(this pulley variates (alters)the speed.just like gears. at the back of this pulley sits the variator rollers
