Hope somebody can help i cannot find where the reversing light switch is on my ford focus automatic is it in the same place as the manual gearbox or somewhere else its driving me mad...

The switch is on front of the gearbox where the selector cable goes. It is a range switch and if you lost reverse lights only, check bulbs and fuses first. It may be slightly out of adjustment. Verify by moving the lever out of reverse slightly to see if they work. Check for starting only in P and N
