DC04?

I want to get the on and off button off the Dyson DC04 and replace the electrical wire, but I can't seem to do it

To access the securing screw that releases the switch/wiring assemenbly you need to ease the yellow switch cover off. There is a v-shaped notch in the switch cover which you can ease back with a small screwdriver and lift the cover away.
The securing screw is of the TORX type (Size 10 I think) but you may be able to get away with using a 3mm flat-bladed screwdriver. Once the screw is removed the assembly can be pulled out carefully. The wires are terminated with sleeved push-on 1/4inch female blade connectors. Similarly insulated replacements should be used to provide electrical insulation/ isolation. Note where the blue and brown wires go before disconnecting them.

1. Take off the wand handle
2. Looking from the back of the machine, stick a small electrical screwdriver into the space between the left of the switch button (where the shape has a strait part) on the body of the machine and give it a twist to lever it out.
3.undo the T15 screw to remove the switch housing.

Hi, Just go to www.dyson-online.com and then click on ‘HELP & SUPPORT’ then choose either ‘Hints & Tips’ or ‘Technical Advice’. The site is fantastic. Good luck.
