Parkinson Cowan Oven doesn't work?

Hi,

My knowledge of ovens could be written on the back of a stamp, so bear with me.

I have a Parkinson Cowan oven/grill/hob which recently made a 'woof' noise while on, went off and tripped the ground floor electrics to my house and blew the fuse in the plug. I changed the fuse, reset the tripped electrics and the oven no longer works. However, the grill and the four hobs work fine. The oven doesn't even turn the gas on. I get nothing...zero...nada. The cooker switch on my fuse box won't reset. if you push it up it immediately flicks down again. Is there a fuse in the oven? do I need an engineer, or am I being a muppet? Any help gratefully received.
