Hi
my timer packed up on an older Dualit.
There are replacement timers available but they are expensive and out of stock.
They are a clockwork mechanism, and seem to easily get dirty after a time
Here's how I fixed it:
1 Take off the bottom plate (six screws) it reveals the timer which is fed by several wires (driving the element cut outs all of which slot out of their holders (make a note of the order or take a picture with your phone)
2.Gently prize off the external control knob to reveal the two timer holding screws
3. Take out the timer unit and ease off the two side metal clips to reveal a clockwork mechanism.
4. Gently brush or blow the cogs.
5. Connect the unit back to the front knob, but not the wires and test to make sure it is now ticking over evenly and for the full duration of the timer
If not, then you have the unit exposed to replace it, or try cleaning it again with a tiny drop of sewing machine oil (nothing heavier).
