The S760 comes with a 2 year warranty with samsung, i'd try and send it back, thats what i'm doing with mine that has exactly the same problem.

I am having the same problem with my daughters S760. which was also brought christmas 2008. I have tried everything, and nothing seems to work.
If anyone knows a solution please could you let us know.
