Where is the starter motor on a ford ka 1300 1997 and how do i get to it?

My Ford ka just makes a high pitched spinning noise when i try to start it. After 2 or 3 attempts it tuens over and starts. How do i get to the starter to change it and where is it on the engine? On old minis a bit of grease and a clean used to keep it alive can you do this with new starters or do i need a new 1?
Many thanks,

follow the power lead downward from the battery positive and you will locate it. To get at motor work out whether to best approach it from the top, or come in from underneath.things will need to be removed (the less the better)
never ever use grease on the bendix screw drive causes more problems than it fixes, just ensure screw thread is absolutely spotlessly clean and returns freely.
